Rethinking Economics for Africa Festival 2023

The REFA Festival is back to challenge economic orthodoxies, unpack economic heterodoxies, & to shake-up the economics discipline in Africa.

The Rethinking Economics for Africa (REFA) will host its sixth  Festival with a diverse range of speakers, student activists, prominent academics and civil society organisations from across the African continent and the globe!

The REFA Festival is a platform for critical economics and the economy in general. The festival will provide participants with opportunities to exchange ideas and tools on how to build a movement for rethinking economics in our universities and society more broadly.
